Repton Squash Club holds a number of tournaments throughout the season. These include both Mens and Ladies Championships but also a number of less serious events such as the handicapped Time tournament and President’s Cup which provide opportunities for players of all abilities.

 

 

2010 CLUB TOURNAMENT RESULTS

 

A successful Finals night on Tuesday 27th April saw a number of unexpected results with Simon Price overcoming Mitchell Cook in the Mens and the ‘Grey Magic’ pairing of Mike Peace and Paul Howkins triumphing in the Doubles over the previously unbeaten champions Simon Evans and Simon Price.

JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS

 

The 2010 Junior Championship Finals were played at the Club on Friday 16th July. Congratulations to the winners and (runners up) below and all who participated!

 

Under 11 - Abby Whiting (Jade Ordish)

 

Under 14 - Greg Ordish (Alex Howson)

 

Under 14 Plate - Calum Whittingham (Tom Mason)

 

 Handicap - Jon Ordish (Max Ordish)

 

Under 17 & Under 17 Plate Finals still to be played

 

A full list and brief description of all the various competitions held by the Club is as follows:-

  • Time Tournament
  • Knock-out tournament, Handicapped according to ability, American scoring, Single game of 10 minutes duration - whoever is leading at end of 10 minutes goes through to next round

    Open to all club members, normally held pre-Xmas as a single night event.

     

  • President’s Cup
  • Knock-out tournament, Handicapped according to ability, each game American scoring up to 15, Best of 5 games.

    Open to all club members, normally held February/March

     

  • Doubles Tournament
  • Choose your own partner, Handicapped according to ability, each game American scoring up to 15, Best of 5 games. Initially based on a mini-league format - number of leagues depends on numbers entering but is normally 2. Winners and runners up then go forward to semi-finals.

    Open to all club members, mini-leagues run January to March.

     

    Mens Championship

    Seeded knock-out tournament (based on club rankings), Normal squash rules, Best of 5 games.

    Open to all club members, normally held March/April.

     

  • Ladies Championship
  • Seeded knock-out tournament (based on club rankings), Normal squash rules, Best of 5 games.

    Open to all lady members, normally held March/April.

     

  • Juniors Championship
  • Normal squash rules, Best of 3 games. Junior Mini-league(s) to determine semi-finalists.

    Open to all junior members under 15 years of age on 1st January of tournament year, Mini-league(s) run January to March.

     

  •  Veterans Championship
  • Knock-out tournament, Normal Squash Rules, Best of 5 games.

    Open to all club members over 45 years of age on 1st January of tournament year, normally held March/April.

     

  •  Racketball Cup

All semi-finals and finals matches resulting from the above tournaments are held on specific nights during April. See Club or Web Site Noticeboards for all tournament, semi-finals, finals and presentation night dates.
